This study aims to draw attention to the overlaps between the “Prince” type that Niccolo Machiavelli wanted to see in charge of Italy, and the “Sultan” character he saw and evaluated through his own outlook. In the study, it was assumed that the Florentine writer, who was also a statesman, as a thinker who understood the most saturated and powerful time of the Ottoman Empire, could not remain indifferent to this power. First of all, the author’s obvious or possible contact with the Ottoman Islamic thought was tried to be proven by pointing to various studies. Afterwards, it was discussed what might have taken from the intellectual, political, administrative, military, and religious structure of the Islamic Ottoman experience while setting up Machiavelli’s “Prince” and the similarities between the prince and the sultan in Machiavelli’s imagination are pointed out. As a result, it was claimed that the Prince could in a sense be the Ottoman sultan’s adaptation to Italian conditions.
