Abstract

International students have become an element of competition among higher education institutions due to the benefits they create. Turkey hosted 125,000 international students and rose to 10th place in the world. In this competitive process, university websites are among the important sources of information for international students. This study aims to examine the websites of universities in Turkey to discover whether they are functional in meeting the information needs of international students. This research used the descriptive statistics method to examine the websites of all universities in Turkey (205) over eight variables. The results show that although 86.4% of Turkish universities have websites that appeal to international students, these websites are not functional in terms of the variables examined. It has been determined that there is a statistically significant difference between state and foundation universities regarding application processes, admission processes, tuition fee information, and residence and accommodation information.
