The article is devoted to research of history of the Samanids dynasty, ruled in the end IX - X centuries AD as deputies over Khurasan and Маwara’ al-nahr in structure of the ‘Аbbasid caliphate. In particular, such questions, as origin of the Samanids, administrative system, a legal status, external communications of the Samanids, and also culture of peoples of Central Asia during epoch of the Samanids are considered. Work is based on little-known data of the medieval written sources on the Arabian, Persian and Turkic languages, and also new readings and interpretations of already known texts with attraction of materials of the historical оnomastics, linguistics, terminology, archeology, anthropology, numismatics, epigraphics and ethnographies
