Ahl al-Bayt in the Qur’an Within the Context of Main Principles of Tafseer

In this article, the roots of term "Ahl al-Bayt" have been discussed just from the Qur’anic point of view. In order to follow a scientific way and also our approaches not to be taken as an ordinary comment the terms of tafseer and ta’weel have been explained first. Then, main principles of tafseer, i.e., the notion of tafseer –that is our scientific method- have been cleared out under eight titles using some Qur’anic examples. And then, three Qur’anic verses where Ahl al-Bayt is mentioned and one related verse have been analized literally and semantically following the tafseer consciousness. 32 works of tafseer and ta’weel that have been created since the beginning up to now were mentioned in a logical order. And then a conclusion has been made in the light of these sources. It has been cleared out that the discourse of "Allah's wish is but to remove uncleanness far from you, O Ahl al-Bayt, and cleanse you with a thorough cleansing" does not have anything to do with the term "Ahl al-Bayt" taken as a kind of cult in terms of literal and historical contexts.
