Abstract
Germir, formerly known as Konaklar and located 6 km from Kayseri downtown has became a neigborhood in the 2000s. Since it has hosted different cultures throughout history, the architectural heritage of the region has also been affected. Transferring a rich architectural heritage to the present day, Germir has a unique texture. In a characteristic street texture formed by traditional residence types, while some residences continue to be used with their original function, some of the residences have been damaged due to unqualified additions, the others have been abandoned. In addition to this street texture, there are also churches, mosques and Bezirhane in Germir. In the scope of work, the Germir Iptidai School, located in the Germir Yukarı Neighborhood, used as a meeting place for the museum and local community is examined. After the detailed examination of Germir Iptidai School, the schools built recently were determined and a comparison was made. With the comparisons made, the common characteristics of the schools built at the begining of the 20th century are a possible result of the study.
