UZAKTAN EĞİTİM VEREN BİR MESLEK YÜKSEKOKULUNDA ÖĞRENCİ GÖRÜŞLERİNİN NİTEL İNCELENMESİ: DİLEK, TEMENNİ VE ALGILAR ÜZERİNE BİR ANALİZ

Öz

Bu çalışmanın amacı, uzaktan eğitim veren bir meslek yüksekokulunda öğrenim gören öğrencilerin eğitim aldıkları kuruma ilişkin dilek, temenni ve görüşlerini nitel bir yaklaşımla inceleyerek öğrenci deneyimine ilişkin algılarını ortaya koymaktır. Araştırma, 2022 yılında uzaktan eğitim modeliyle öğrenim gören meslek yüksekokulu öğrencilerinden elde edilen açık uçlu yazılı geri bildirimlerin (n = 123) nitel içerik analizi yöntemiyle analizine dayanmaktadır. Öğrenci görüşleri, memnuniyet, nötr algı ve memnuniyetsizlik boyutları dikkate alınarak tematik bir çerçevede değerlendirilmiştir. Analiz sonucunda öğrenci görüşlerinin akademik süreçler ve ders işleyişi, uygulamalı eğitim ve mesleki hazırlık, dijital ve teknolojik altyapı, idari hizmetler ile kurumsal iletişim ve öğrenci katılımı olmak üzere beş ana tema altında toplandığı belirlenmiştir. Bulgular, öğrencilerin akademik süreçlere ilişkin algılarının görece dengeli olduğunu; öğretim elemanlarının çevrim içi ders anlatımı ve erişilebilirliğinin memnuniyet boyutunda öne çıktığını göstermektedir. Buna karşılık, uygulamalı eğitimin uzaktan sunumu ve dijital altyapıya ilişkin konularda memnuniyetsizlik ifadelerinin yoğunlaştığı görülmüştür. İdari hizmetlere ilişkin görüşlerde ise nötr algıların baskın olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Çalışma, uzaktan eğitim veren meslek yüksekokullarında öğrenci deneyiminin çok boyutlu yapısını ortaya koyarak kurumsal geliştirme süreçlerine katkı sunmaktadır.

A QUALITATIVE EXAMINATION OF STUDENT PERSPECTIVES IN A DISTANCE VOCATIONAL COLLEGE: AN ANALYSIS OF WISHES, EXPECTATIONS, AND PERCEPTIONS

Öz

The aim of this study is to examine the wishes, expectations, and opinions of students enrolled in a distance vocational college through a qualitative approach in order to reveal their perceptions of the student experience. The study is based on the analysis of open-ended written feedback obtained in 2022 from vocational college students studying under a distance education model (n = 123), using qualitative content analysis. Student views were analyzed thematically by considering satisfaction, neutral perception, and dissatisfaction dimensions. The analysis revealed that student opinions were grouped under five main themes: academic processes and course delivery, practical training and vocational preparation, digital and technological infrastructure, administrative services, and institutional communication and student participation. The findings indicate that students’ perceptions of academic processes were relatively balanced, with satisfaction mainly associated with instructors’ online teaching practices and accessibility. In contrast, dissatisfaction was particularly evident regarding the remote delivery of practical training and issues related to digital and technological infrastructure. Neutral perceptions were found to be dominant in relation to administrative services, suggesting that these processes were generally perceived as functional but open to improvement. By addressing student experience through multiple perceptual dimensions, this study provides a comprehensive understanding of distance vocational education and offers insights to support institutional improvement efforts.
