Nazirecilik Geleneği Bağlamında Mihrî Hâtun ve Necâtî Bey’in “Açılur” Redifli Gazellerinin Karşılaştırmalı İncelenmesi

A Comparative Analysis of the Ghazals with the Redif “Açılur” by Mihrî Hâtun and Necâtî Bey in the Context of the Nazire Tradition
Öz
Nazires, which serve as an important means for poets to be included in literary circles, are products of a deeply rooted tradition based on certain established criteria, even though they do not follow strictly codified rules. This tradition not only contributes to the artistic development of poets but also helps preserve the literary memory of a nation. In identifying a nazire, meter, refrain, and rhyme constitute the main criteria, ensuring harmony between the nazire and the model poem. In Classical Ottoman poetry, the fact that nazire poems were predominantly written in the ghazal form clearly demonstrates the central role of the ghazal in the literary climate of the period. Necâtî Bey (d. 1509), one of the leading poets of the fifteenth century, reached wide audiences with his fluent Turkish, which remained close to the vernacular, and with his skillful use of proverbs and idiomatic expressions; for this reason, numerous nazire poems were written in response to him. Mihrî Hâtun (d. 1506), who lived in the same period, distinguished herself through her bold style and sincerity. The fact that Necâtî Bey was the poet for whom she composed the most nazires reveals the depth of the artistic relationship between them. In a period when women had very limited presence in literary life, Mihrî Hâtun’s composing of nazire poems for a master poet and expressing her feelings freely marks her out as a powerful poetic figure who transcended her time. This study aims to draw attention to the place of Mihrî Hâtun’s practice of writing nazire within the literary tradition by examining the structural and thematic dimensions of the literary interaction between these two poets through a comparative analysis method.
