Türk Toplumunun Dental İmplantlar Hakkındaki Bilgilerinin Değerlendirilmesi

Öz

Amaç: Dental implantlar diş eksikliğinde en çok tercih edilen tedavi yöntemi haline gelmiştir. Bu çalışmanın amacı Türkiye’de yaşayan bireylerin dental implantlar hakkındaki bilgilerini ve implant tercihlerini değerlendirmektir. Materyal ve Metod: Bu araştırmada, bireylerin dental implantlar hakkındaki bilgi düzeyini ve tercih sebeplerini değerlendirmek üzere çoktan seçmeli bir anket uygulandı. Daha önce hiç implant tedavisi yaptırmamış 18-79 yaş aralığında kadın ve erkek bireylerden oluşan Türkiye’nin çeşitli illerinde yaşayan kişilerden, online olarak gönderilen anket formlarını doldurmaları istendi. Elde edilen verilerin istatistiksel analizi SPSS programı ve ki-kare testi kullanılarak yapıldı. Bulgular: Çalışmaya 196 erkek (%45.7) ve 233 kadın (%54.3) olmak üzere toplam 429 birey katılmıştır. Katılımcıların %47.9'u dental implant kavramını diş hekimlerinden öğrenmiş olup, %57.6'sı kısmen bilgi sahibi olduğunu belirtmiştir. Katılımcıların %67.7'si implant tedavisini uzman diş hekimine yaptırmayı tercih etmektedir. %87.8'i dental implantın tedavi sonrası sağlığa zararlı olmadığını düşünmektedir. Katılımcıların çoğu implant tercihinde en önemli faktörün hekimin tavsiyesi (%54.2) olduğunu belirtmiştir. Sonuç: Bu çalışma, bireylerin dental implantlar konusundaki bilgi düzeylerini ve tercihlerini etkileyen faktörleri anlamak için önemli veriler sunmaktadır. Diş hekimlerinin bilgilendirme ve yönlendirme konusundaki kritik rolü vurgulanırken, toplum genelinde dental implant konusundaki farkındalığın artırılması gerektiği ortaya konmuştur. Bu doğrultuda, daha geniş kapsamlı bilgilendirme ve eğitim çalışmalarının yapılması, dental implant tedavilerinin daha yaygın ve doğru bir şekilde uygulanmasına katkı sağlayacaktır.

Evaluation of the Turkish Population's Knowledge about Dental Implants

Öz

Aim: Dental implants have become the most preferred treatment method for tooth loss. The aim of this study is to evaluate the knowledge and preferences of individuals living in Türkiye regarding dental implants. Material and Method: In this research, a multiple-choice questionnaire was administered to assess individuals' knowledge levels and reasons for preference concerning dental implants. The survey was conducted online among men and women aged 18-79 who had never undergone implant treatment, residing in various provinces of Türkiye. The statistical analysis of the obtained data was performed using the SPSS program and the chi-square test. Results: A total of 429 individuals participated in the study, including 196 men (45.7%) and 233 women (54.3%). Of the participants, 47.9% learned about the concept of dental implants from dentists, and 57.6% reported having partial knowledge. A majority of 67.7% preferred to have implant treatment performed by a specialist dentist. 87.8% believed that dental implants are not harmful to health after treatment. Most participants indicated that the most crucial factor in the preference for implants is the dentist's recommendation (54.2%). Conclusion: This study provides significant data for understanding the knowledge levels and factors influencing the preferences of individuals regarding dental implants. While highlighting the critical role of dentists in providing information and guidance, it also underscores the need to increase awareness about dental implants among the general population. Accordingly, broader informational and educational efforts are necessary to promote more widespread and correct application of dental implant treatments.
