Initially social studies education proposed to prepare students for real life while it seems that this aspect of social studies education is not at the desired level in Turkey. Thus, the purpose of the presentation is to provide example of teaching activities that resemblance of real life experiences in social studies education classes from Germany, United States, and Japan. It is planned to introduce examples of teaching activities that resemble real life experiences from these countries by presenting photos and/or other visuals and discuss how it is possible to get student involved in these nonfictional activities
