PREPARING STUDENTS FOR THE 21st CENTURY WITH SCHOOL LIBRARIES

Abstract

The nature of the school library service is affected by the changing goals and priorities, budgetary considerations, staff expertise, teaching and technological advances, collection developments, users, buildings, places, and national librarianship of each of the national organizations involved in the partnership. Today, our students now have access to a school library, and libraries all over the world are looking toward searching more information. We need to be sure that we are providing the right kind of space, resources, and services for all of our users. This article showcase creative ways to ensure the continued viability of school library programs and give practicing school librarians a chance to learn the nuts and bolts of many innovative library programs.
