On Acceptance and Publication
Each article submitted to the journal is first evaluated by the Masthead in terms of formal compliance with the journal's Editorial Principles (word count, number of keywords, bibliography rules, etc.). At this stage, the Masthead only tries to ensure the formal compliance of the article with the Editorial Principles, and does not make any evaluation regarding the content. Every article that is formally compliant by the Masthead is “anonymized” and sent to the referees by hiding the author's name. For an article that is decided to be sent to the referees, 3 referees, 2 originals and 1 substitute, are determined. Necessary information is sent to the author to start the referee process. The refereeing process is carried out until 2 positive or 2 negative reports about the article are received. When one of the referees gives a positive opinion and the other one gives a negative opinion, the article is sent to the third referee. In rare cases, such as the third referee not accepting the review and not reaching a positive or negative opinion, the article is brought to the next meeting of the Editorial Board and a new referee is determined.
Your editor will keep you informed as to your article’s progress throughout the production process. Proofs will be made available to the corresponding author via DergiPark system or by email, and corrections should be made directly or notified to us promptly. Authors are reminded to check their proofs carefully to confirm that all author information, including names, affiliations, sequence and contact details are correct, and that Funding and Conflict of Interest statements, if any, are accurate. Following the evaluation process, it is an obligation to work in harmony with the authors in the editing process. After the article is accepted, the author will be asked if the edited version of the article is suitable for printing and it will be published free of charge via the DergiPark and Musicologist internet site.
