In this study, anastomosis was applied as a new method by reducing the number of sutures in rats as an experimental model of colon anastomosis leakage. Colo-colic, end-to-end anastomosis was applied with 8 sutures to the control group and 4 sutures to the study group. Postoperative 5.day after anastomotic segment resection, burst pressures were measured and anastomosis leaks were observed. The study concluded that the model of anastomosis leakage made by reducing the number of sutures could be used in experimental studies.
