Öz
Bu
makalede Budist mantığında kullanılan kıyas türlerinin mantıksal değeri
tartışılmaktadır. Yazar makalede, Dauglas Daye gibi bazı mantıkçılar tarafından
bir kıyas olarak görülmeyen beş öncüllü Nyaya çıkarımlarının aslında Peirce'ün
retrodüktif çıkarım tarifine uyduğunu iddia etmektedir. Bu iddiası ile batılı
anlamıyla tam bir mantık olmadığı ileri sürülen Budist mantığının batı mantığı
ile benserlik taşıdığını ortaya koymaya çalışmakta ve üzerinde daha fazla
çalışma yapılması gerektiğine dikkat çekmektedir.
