Sistematik derleme kapsamında Web Of Science, PubMed, Scopus, MEDLİNE, APA PsycArticles ve YÖKTEZ veri tabanlarından taranarak elde edilen çalışmalar PRISMA 2020 Bildirisi kriterleri dikkate alınarak incelenmiştir.

Metacognition and emotional eating are being studied in conjunction with many psychological factors and have gained more prominence in the literature in recent years. Although there are studies examining the relationship between these two variables, metacognition and emotional eating have not been addressed in a systematic review before. Studies obtained by searching the Web of Science, PubMed, Scopus, MEDLINE, APA PsycArticles, and YÖKTEZ databases were reviewed according to the PRISMA 2020 Statement criteria. Quantitative studies consisting of English articles and Turkish theses that analyzed the relationship between metacognition and emotional eating and had a sample of adult individuals were included in the systematic review. Nine studies that met the inclusion criteria were examined in terms of factors such as the sample, scales used to measure metacognition and emotional eating, and the strength of the relationships between variables. In all studies evaluated, at least one sub-dimension of metacognition was found to be related to emotional eating. Some studies also found that metacognition predicted emotional eating. The results have been discussed in light of the relevant literature.
