EKONOMİK BÜYÜME VE ULAŞTIRMA ALTYAPI KALİTESİNİN CO2 EMİSYONUNA ETKİSİNİN İNCELENMESİ

Öz

Bu araştırma 2007-2017 yılları arasında 33 ülkenin panel verileriyle ekonomik büyüme ve ticaret ulaştırma altyapısının kalitesinin çevreye etkisini incelemektedir. Otokorelasyon varlığı nedeniyle 2 aşamalı genelleştirilmiş momentler yöntemi (GMM) kullanılmıştır. Alanyazın incelendiğinde Arı ve Zeren (2011), Say ve Yücel (2006) çalışmalarında ekonomik büyümenin CO2 emisyonunu artırdığı bulunmuştur. Alanyazında bulunduğu gibi bu çalışmada da ekonomik büyümenin pozitif etkisi bulunmuştur. Lojistik üzerine bakıldığında ise Khan (2019), Aldakhil vd. (2018) ve Khan vd. (2018) çalışmalarında lojistik sektöründeki büyümenin CO2 emisyonunu artırdığı görülmektedir. Bu bağlamda bu çalışmada lojistik performans endeksi ticaret ve ulaştırma altyapısının kalitesi boyutu değişkeninin etkisi gözlemlenmiştir. Ulaştırma altyapı kalitesinin artıkça lojistik faaliyetlerinin çevreye olan zararlı etkileri de düşecektir. Altyapı kalitesin CO2 emisyonunu azaltacağı beklentisi çalışmanın bulgularına göre karşılık bulmuştur.
