TÜRKİYE’DE ERKEKLER İÇİN BÖLGESEL ÇALIŞMA HAYAT TABLOLARI, 2023

Öz

Türkiye'nin demografik ve ekonomik yapısı son birkaç on yılda önemli değişiklikler geçirmiştir. Bu demografik ve ekonomik dönüşümler devam etmekte olup önceki bulguları değerli ancak eksik bir referans noktası haline getirmektedir. Özgören ve Koç (2012), 1980, 1990 ve 2000 yılları için hazırladıkları statik hayat tabloları aracılığıyla erkekler için çalışma hayatı beklentisine dair öncü bir değerlendirme sunmuştur. 2023 yılı itibarıyla Türkiye, yaş yapısı, kentleşme ve iş gücü dinamikleri açısından değişimlerin öne çıktığı yeni bir demografik ve ekonomik dönüşüm sürecine girmiştir. Bu çalışma, Türkiye iş gücü piyasasında çalışma hayatı beklentisinin değişimini değerlendirmeyi ve kalıcı ya da yeni ortaya çıkan yapısal eşitsizlikleri açığa çıkarmayı amaçlamaktadır. Bu çalışmada, karşılaştırmalı ve metodolojik gerekçeler doğrultusunda erkek nüfus için NUTS-1 düzeyinde çalışma hayat tabloları oluşturulmuştur. Çalışmanın temel verileri, TÜİK’in 2023 İşgücü İstatistikleri ve Ölümlülük Verilerine dayanmaktadır. Bulgular, çalışma hayatının süresi ve zamanlamasında önemli bölgesel farklılıklar olduğunu ortaya koymaktadır. Doğu Karadeniz ve Kuzeydoğu Anadolu gibi kırsal ve tarımsal bölgelerde erkeklerin çalışma hayatı süreleri daha uzundur. Buna karşılık, İstanbul ve Batı Anadolu gibi daha kentleşmiş bölgelerde daha uzun eğitim süreleri, iş gücünden erken çıkışlar ve kurumsallaşmış emeklilik sistemleriyle şekillenen daha resmi iş gücü piyasaları nedeniyle beklenen çalışma süresi daha kısadır ve çalışılmayan yıllar daha fazladır.

REGIONAL WORKING LIFE TABLES FOR MALES IN TÜRKİYE: 2023

Öz

Türkiye's demographic and economic structure have undergone significant changes in recent decades. These demographic and labor market transformations have continued to unfold, rendering the earlier findings a valuable yet incomplete benchmark. Özgören and Koç (2008) provided a foundational assessment of male working life expectancy based on static life tables for 1980, 1990, and 2000. As of 2023, shifts in age structure, urbanization, and labor force dynamics call for an updated analysis. This study aims to assess the evolution of working life expectancy and uncover persistent or emerging structural divides in Türkiye’s labor market. In this study, NUTS-1 level working life tables are constructed for the male population, reflecting both comparative and methodological considerations. The primary data for this study are drawn from two sources: 2023 Labor Force Statistics and Mortality Data produced by TURKSTAT. The findings reveal significant regional disparities in the duration and timing of working life. Rural and agricultural regions such as East Black Sea and Northeast Anatolia demonstrate longer male working life spans. Conversely, more urbanized regions like Istanbul and West Anatolia exhibit shorter working life expectancies and longer non-working years, shaped by extended education, early labor market exits, and more formal employment structures with institutionalized retirement pathways.
