The purpose of this study was to determine the university students' perspectives and participation motivation to the sport. 251 boys and 158 girls with total 409 students who choosed physical education classes, joined to research voluntarily from Pamukkale University. Students picked by random sample method. Research's data were collected from 2 different groups by using 2 different surveys. "Perspective of sport and recreation (α= 0.73)" survey applied to 90 male ( Age=20.09±1.27) and 73 female ( Age=19.91±1.39) students and "Participation Motivation Questionnaire (α= 0.91)" applied to 161 male ( Age=20.06±1.44) and 65 female students ( Age=19.53±1.19). Descriptives (frequency-percentage, mean, standart deviation) were used for analyzing data. According to the findings, "Frendship" was the most unimportant motive to participate to sport with = 1.61±0.47 and "Skill Development" was the most important motive to participate to sport with = 1.23±0.31. When we look these factors in terms of gender, "Frendship" was the most unimportant motive for boys with =1.58±0.45 and for girls with = 1.70±0.50. "Skill Development" was the most important motive for boys with = 1.24±0.33 and for girls with = 1.21±0.26. "Sport is being healthy" was the most important perspective to sport (89,6 %). Most of the students showed that they were disagree with the expression of "It is not important to widespread of sport to the community (% 86.5).

Ara?tyrmaya, rastgele tabakalama örnekleme yöntemi ile seçilen; Pamukkale Üniversitesi'nde ö?renim gören ve seçmeli beden e?itimi dersi alan 251 erkek ve 158 kyz toplam 409 ö?renci gönüllü olarak katylmy?tyr. Bulgulara göre spora katylymda = 1.61±0.47 ile "arkada?lyk" en önemsiz güdü olarak bulunurken en önemli güdü ise = 1.23±0.31 ile "beceri geli?imi" olmu?tur. Bu faktörlerin cinsiyete göre ayrymyna bakyldy?ynda erkek ö?renciler =1.58±0.45 ve kyz ö?renciler = 1.70±0.50 ile "arkada?ly?y" spora katylymda en önemsiz güdü olarak belirtmi?tir. En önemli güdü olarak ise erkekler = 1.24±0.33 ve kyzlar = 1.21±0.26 ile "beceri geli?imini" belirtmi?lerdir. Spora baky? açysynda ise "spor sa?lykly olmaktyr" (% 89.6) görü?ü en önemli görü? olarak hesaplanmy?tyr.
