THE STATUS OF OBEYING THE RULES OF PERSONAL HYGIENE FOR THE STAFF WORKING AT FOOD DEPARTMENT

Abstract

This study was carried out to determinee the status of obeying the rules of personal hygiene for the staff working at food department of supermarkets. 305 volunteer staff appointed unbiasedly through the method of randomly sampling out of the staff working at the food departments of the supermarkets in different areas of the central town of the city of Ankara consisted the sampling of the study. The data of the study was obtained by applying questionnaires to the personnel working at the food department of 26 different supermarkets in different areas. While most of the staff had a health control when they started work, it was found that 12.5% had no health examination when they were employed. It was also found that 46.6% of the participants had a general body cleaning every three days, 44.6% had it everyday and 8.9% had body hygiene once a week. It was determined that those included in the study all washed their hands before they started work and mostly used liquid soap for the cleaning; however, many of them did not use a disinfectant. GIDA REYONUNDA ÇALIŞAN PERSONELİN KİŞİSEL HİJYEN KURALLARINA DİKKAT ETME DURUMLARI

Öz

Bu araştırma, marketlerin gıda reyonunda çalışan personelin kişisel hijyen kurallarına dikkat etme durumlarını ortaya koymak amacıyla gerçekleştirilmiştir. Ankara ili merkez ilçelerinin farklı semtlerinde bulunan 26 farklı markette gıda reyonunda çalışan personel arasından basit tesadüfî örnekleme yöntemiyle yansız olarak atanan ve çalışmaya katılmaya gönüllü olan toplam 305 personel araştırmanın örneklemini oluşturmaktadır. Araştırma verileri gıda reyonunda çalışan personele anket uygulanarak elde edilmiştir. Personelin büyük çoğunluğunun işe girerken sağlık kontrolünden geçtiği, %12.5’inin işe girerken sağlık kontrolünden geçmediği saptanmıştır. Çalışmaya katılan personelin %46.6’sının üç günde bir,  %44.6’sının her gün ve %8.9’unun hafta bir genel vücut temizliği yaptığı saptanmıştır. Çalışmaya katılan personelin tamamının işe başlamadan önce ellerini yıkadıkları, çoğunlukla sıvı sabun kullandıkları; ancak çoğunluğunun dezenfektan kullanmadığı tespit edilmiştir. Dezenfektan kullanma durumuna göre; et/kasap, şarküteri ve unlu mamul reyonlarında çalışanlar arasında anlamlı farklılık saptanmıştır (p<.05).
