The Effect of Ciber Personalities on Personality: Proteus Effect (Definition, Causes and Prevention)

Öz

Technology and the Internet, a part of life can affect individual and society in various ways. Technology and the Internet have created virtual environment as known a new social world. Virtual world provides an environment whose borders nearly cannot be drawn, and this environment affects individuals and institutions, and converts them. The effect is both positive and negative. In Virtual world relationships, identity, influences, aggressiveness, crime and so on are varied. The impact of virtual worlds vary in terms of development periods. In the case of identity acquisition puberty and adolescence, a virtual world may cause more intense and the negative effects on individuals. Games by Internet-based virtual friendships or game programs based on computer give rise to a new kind of addiction known as virtualgaming addiction. This addiction can cause different effects and causes. One of the effects is the Proteus Effect. The purpose of thes tudy is to introduce the Proteus Effect occuring in virtual world by virtual games, and causing the virtual identities to be convert real identities to readers. The Proteus Effect was tried to describe in the context of the definition, causes and prevention dimension in the context of accessible literature.

Siber Kimliklerin Kişiliğe Yansıması: Proteus Etki (Tanımı, Nedenleri Ve Önlenmesi)

Öz

Hayatın vazgeçilmez bir parçası haline gelmiş olan teknoloji ve internet bireyi ve toplumu farklı yönlerden etkisi altına alabilmektedir. Teknoloji ve internet sanal çevre diye bilinen yeni bir sosyal dünyanın oluşmasına neden olmuştur. Sanal dünya, sınırları neredeyse çizilemeyen bir çevre sunmakta ve bu çevre içinde bulunan bireyleri, kurumları etkilemekte ve dönüştürmektedir.  Söz konusu etki, kimi yönlerden olumlu, kimi yönlerden ise olumsuzlaşmaktadır. Sanal dünyadaki ilişkiler, kimlikler, etkilenmeler, saldırganlıklar, suçlar vb. farklılaşmaktadır. Sanal dünyanın etkisi, bireylerin gelişim dönemleri açısından çeşitlilik göstermektedir. Kimlik ediniminin söz konusu olduğu erinlik ve ergenlik dönemlerindeki bireyler üzerinde sanal dünya daha yoğun ve olumsuz etkilere neden olabilmektedir. İnternet tabanlı sanal arkadaşlıklar üzerinden veya bilgisayar alt yapısı üzerine kurulmuş oyun programları ile oynanabilen oyunlar, sanal oyun bağımlılığı olarak bilinen yeni bir bağımlılık türüne de yol açmaktadır. Ortaya çıkan bu bağımlılık, kişi üzerinde farklı görünümlere, etkilere neden olabilmektedir. Söz konusu etkilerden biri de Proteus Etkidir (Proteus Effect). Çalışmanın amacı sanal dünyada gerçekleşen sanal oyunlar üzerinden açığa çıkan ve bireylerin sanal kimliklerinin gerçek kimliklerinin dönüşmesine, farklılaşmasına neden olan Proteus Etki'nin okuyucuya tanıtılmasıdır. Tanımı, nedenleri ve önlenmesi boyutlarında ele alınan Proteus Etki ulaşılabilen literatür bağlamında betimlenmeye çalışılmıştır.
