Levels of Leisure Satisfaction Perceived Freedom in Leisure and Social Appearance Anxiety of Regular Physical Recreational Activity Participants’
Abstract
The aim of the study is to compare the leisure satisfaction, perceived freedom and social appearance anxiety of individuals participating in regular physical activity according to some parameters and to examine the relationship between them. The sample of the study is comprised of 109 female and 137 male (meanAGE = 26.28 ± 8.13) volunteers who are regularly (at least 45 minutes 3 days a week) participating in recreational sports activities. The Information Form, Leisure Satisfaction Scale (LSS), Perceived Freedom in Leisure (PFL) and the Social Appearance Anxiety Scale (SAAS). As a result of the analysis, it is seen that the PFL and the LSS are positively related (p <01). The SAAS scores of those who participated in paid and free recreational physical activities were examined and the SAAS scores of those participating in paid recreational physical activities were significantly higher (p<0.05). Among the LSS levels of those who participated in paid and free recreational physical activities, it was found that the mean scores of those who participated free services in the education subscale and relaxation subscale were significantly different (p<0.05). It is also found that individuals who has high level of SAAS preferring to participate in the seclusion hours (p <0.05). As a result, it is seen that participation in recreational physical activities is a factor affecting the three parameters, whether they are paid or not, the duration of participation and the time periods they participate.
