Architect from the Polytechnic University of Valencia (Spain), she holds the position of Associated Professor in the Urban Design and Regional Planning Unit at the University of Alicante. Her research interests lie in landscape dynamics at urban, peri-urban and territorial scales within the context of the Spanish Mediterranean Arc. Her recent work is focused on integrating geolocated data from social networks in the monitoring and diagnosis of urban dynamics in public space, and its implementation with green infrastructure systems and ecosystem services. She collaborates with the MappingAME Research Laboratory of the University of Alicante.

Magdalena Rembeza, PhD (magrembe@pg.edu.pl) is a tenured Assistant Professor at the Department of Urban Design and Regional Planning at the Faculty of Architecture of Gdańsk University of Technology, Poland, where she completed her doctorate. She is also a member of the Board of the Revitalization Forum Association, a member of the Society of Polish Town Planners (TUP) and the International Federation of Housing and Planning (IFHP). In years 2009-2014, she was the head of GUT’s postgraduate studies: “Architectural-urban revitalization of urban areas”.
She gained her professional experience in Poland, England, Germany and the United States. She is also a scholarship holder of the Kosciuszko Foundation in 2014. In years 2014-15, she has completed the Special Program for Urban and Regional Studies at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), USA. Her research interests focus on widely understood revitalization of coastal cities and its public space, also with the use of art and culture. She is an author of research papers, book chapters and conference papers related to the subject of revitalization, such as: a regeneration of the degraded central residential districts in an aspect of economy of culture; a role of creative placemaking; the resilient city and in-between spaces of cities.

1968 yılında Çayıralan’da doğdu. 1985 yılında Ankara Üniversitesi, Ziraat Fakültesi Peyzaj Mimarlığı Bölümü’ne kayıt yaptırdı ve 1989 yılında lisans eğitimini takiben 1990 yılında 1 yıl İngilizce Hazırlık eğitiminden sonra Ankara Üniversitesi Fen Bilimleri Enstitüsü Peyzaj Mimarlığı Anabilim Dalı’nda yüksek lisans öğrenimine başladı. 1991 yılında Ankara Üniversitesi, Ziraat Fakültesi Peyzaj Mimarlığı Bölümü’ne Araştırma Görevlisi olarak atandı. 1993 yılında yüksek lisans çalışmasını tamamlayarak aynı Anabilim Dalı’nda doktora öğrenimine başladı. 1994 yılında burslu olarak bir yıl süre ile İspanya’da Zaragoza Akdeniz Tarım Enstitüsü’nde kırsal planlama ile ilgili kursa katıldı. 1998 yılında üç ay süreli Milli Eğitim Bakanlığı’nın bursu ile Zaragoza Üniversitesi’nde doktora konusu ile ilişkili çalışmalarda bulundu. 2000 yılında Zonguldak Karaelmas Üniversitesi Bartın Meslek Yüksek Okulu’na Öğretim.Görevlisi olarak atandı. 2001 yılında doktora çalışmasını tamamladı ve aynı yıl Zonguldak Karaelmas Üniversitesi, Bartın Orman Fakültesi, Peyzaj Mimarlığı Bölümü’ne Yardımcı Doçent olarak atandı. 2004 yılında bir yıl süre ile burslu olarak Hollanda’nın Rotterdam Kenti’ndeki Erasmus Üniversitesi’nde Kentsel Yönetim ve Kalkınma, Kent Gelişim Stratejileri konusunda Yüksek Lisans yaptı. 2008 yılında Zonguldak Karaelmas Üniversitesi’nden ayrılan ve yeni kurulan Bartın Üniversitesi’ne bağlanan Orman Fakültesi, Peyzaj Mimarlığı Bölümü’ne Yard.Doç. olarak devam etti. 2011 yılında Doçent kadrosuna atandı. 2012 yılında 2547 sayılı Kanunun 39. maddesi uyarınca 02/07/2012-28/09/2012 tarihleri arasında üç ay süre ile İspanya’nın Madrid Kenti’nde bulunan Madrid Complutense Üniversitesi’nde misafir araştırmacı olarak bulundu. 2017 yılında Profesör kadrosuna atandı. İyi derecede İngilizce ve orta düzeyde İspanyolca bilmektedir.

Dr. Ahmed Yousif Alomary was born in Mosul, Iraq, in 1964. He earned his B.Sc. degree in Architectural Engineering from the University of Mosul in 1987, followed by an M.Sc. degree in Architectural Engineering in 1992, and a Ph.D. in 2008 from the Department of Architectural Engineering at the University of Technology in Baghdad, Iraq.
He served as a Lecturer in the Department of Architectural Engineering at the University of Mosul from 1992, advancing to the position of Assistant Professor in 2014. Additionally, he held the role of Head of the Department of Architectural Engineering at the University of Mosul from 2017 to 2022.
Dr. Alomary also contributed as a member of the technical committee for the rebuilding of Al-Hadba Minaret at Al-Nuri Mosque under the auspices of UNESCO.
His research interests include Landscape Design, Cultural Landscape, and Sustainable Design. He has participated in the following conferences:

Beata Dreksler is an assistant professor of landscape architecture at the American University of Beirut. She holds a Ph.D. in landscape architecture from Warsaw University of Life Sciences—SGGW, Poland, and has over 30 years of experience across Europe, Central America, and the Middle East. Beata has contributed to projects ranging from urban revitalization to community-focused green spaces. Her current research explores landscape democracy and digital transformation, including Virtual Reality applications in design.

Jeroen de Vries (1953) is a landscape architect and landscape ecologist who focuses on strategies and innovative action for the sustainable development of landscape. In projects acting as the driving force: structuring, organising discussion, guiding decision making, supporting his colleagues, and editing and implementing the outcomes. Graduated as a landscape architect of Wageningen University with a specialisation in landscape design and landscape ecology. Until the summer of 2024 he was a partner of an consultancy office on public spaces (DG Groep, Woerden).
Currently he is Director Researcher of the LE:NOTRE Institute. He is an independent landscape architecture researcher. He contributed as a landscape ecologist to a variety of projects, such as the Masterplan for Rijnenburg (Utrecht, NL) and the design and planting plan of the Eindhoven High Tech Campus, the design of ecological zones in the city of the Hague for the Erasmuszone and Stadhoudersplantsoen, and assessment of flora and fauna for new development plans. From 2005 till 2008 he conducted research on Design for Biodiversity at Van Hall Larenstein and gave lectures on this topic at the Academy of Rotterdam and Ankara University. In 2019 he lectured on the implementation of Green Infrastructure for the National Romanian Landscape Architecture Association in Bucharest. He initiated and coordinated the Erasmus+ project on AESOP4Food for sustainable food planning, giving lectures on food system analysis for which he elaborated the building blocks of an Agroecological Urbanism, for instance by writing a report on a new model for Agriparks.
