New Inscriptions from the Kabalis

Abstract

In this article eight new inscriptions from the Kabalis region are published on the basis of the documentation preserved in Vienna (ÖAI, ÖAW). The funerary inscriptions (texts nos. 1–5, 7–8) shed light on local onomastics, inscription no. 6 is a dedication to the Theoi Hosioi, attested until now only in Phrygia.

Kabalis’ten Yeni Yazıtlar

Öz

Bu makalede Söğüt Gölü etrafında konumlanan Kabalis bölgesinden daha önce yayınlanmamış sekiz adet yazıt tanıtılmaktadır. Yazıtlar, Viyana’da Avusturya Arkeoloji Enstitüsü’ndeki (ÖAI) Epigrafik Araştırmaları Birimi’nin (eski adı Küçük Asya Komisyonu) arşivlerinde muhafaza edilen belgeler temel alınarak yayımlanmaktadır. Büyük çoğunluğu İmparatorluk Dönemi’ne ait mezar yazıtından (no. 1–5, 7–8) oluşan metinler yerel şahıs isimleri hakkında bilgilerimizi genişletmektedir. Theoi Hosioi’a ithaf edilen yazıt no. 6 şimdiye kadar sadece Phrygia’da belgelenen bu tanrı grubunun bölgede de tapınım gördüğünü kanıtlayan ilk belgedir.

Neue Inschriften aus der Kabalis

Öz

In diesem Artikel werden acht bislang unpublizierte Inschriften aus der Kabalis auf Grundlage der in Wien an der ehemaligen Kleinasiatischen Kommission (heute Forschungsgruppe Epigraphik, ÖAI) aufbewahrten Dokumentation ediert. Anhand der kaiserzeitlichen Grabinschriften (Nr. 1–5, 7–8) lässt sich unser Wissen über die lokale Onomastik erweitern. Bei Inschrift Nr. 6 handelt es sich um eine Weihung für die Theoi Hosioi, deren Verehrung erstmals in diesem Gebiet bezeugt ist.
