Yıl 2024, Cilt: 6 Sayı: 2, 130 - 139, 30.12.2024

This study examines the potential effects of news published on social media on employees' job satisfaction. Firstly, the research acknowledges the increasing influence of social media in daily life and its impact on individuals' access to information related to their jobs. However, the clear impact of social media on job satisfaction remains uncertain. Therefore, this study aims to conduct a field research to understand the possible effects of news published on social media on employees' job satisfaction. The participants of the research come from various sectors and socio-economic backgrounds. During the data collection process, participants were evaluated through surveys including their opinions on news published on social media, their levels of job satisfaction, and their experiences in the workplace. The findings suggest that news on social media has a complex impact on job satisfaction. Some participants stated that news on social media increases their access to current information related to their jobs, positively affecting their job satisfaction, while others expressed that these news sources increase job stress and consequently reduce job satisfaction. These contradictory results deepen our understanding of how social media is perceived and utilized in the workplace. In conclusion, this study emphasizes the need for further research to understand the effects of social media on job satisfaction.
