Abstract
Higher education plays a pivotal role in shaping the social, cultural, and economic development of nations, making its quality a critical determinant of progress. As the quality of higher education has become one of the most important factors in development, there is a growing need to better understand how academic citizenship functions and how it can be most effectively applied. … The present study seeks to examine academic citizenship in Türkiye and Kyrgyzstan. The aim of this study is to examine academic citizenship in Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart University in Türkiye and Kyrgyz-Turkish Manas University in Kyrgyzstan by considering the elements of academic service, academic collaboration, academic diversity and inclusion and academic research. The data analysis was conducted using the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS), version 26.0, ensuring rigorous and systematic examination of the collected data. The quantitative universe of the research includes 150 academicians from ÇOMU and 150 academicians from KTMU, in the 2024-2025 academic year. This study argues to encourage academics to be active and versatile academic citizens in terms of both internal and external service of higher education.

No falsification was made on the collected data and this study was not sent to any other academic publication medium for evaluation.
