In this study with the experiments; first of all the values of μ resistance coefficient of water vapor transition were measured for the materials like stone, brick, plaster etc. Then water-repellent and waterbased, silicate paints were applied on the surface of these materials and the change in μ values were searched.Vapor is the gas state of water, so water vapor always exists in the air. The amount of water vapor in the air is related with the temperature of the environment, and is greater in higher temperature. Water vapor creates a pressure according to its amount. If a space is divided into two spaces with a separator and the temperature is different on each side, then there also occurs a flow of water vapor as the same direction to the flow of heat from higher to lower temperature. The property of the separator effects the amount of vapor transition. All of the materials -also including the impermeable ones- except metal, glass and glazed ceramic may transfer water vapor more or less. Condensation of water vapor inside of a building material may cause hazardous deterioration so it is an important feature to control the water vapor movements
