Öz
This work aims to measure social perception towards the consequences of coup attempt designated by FETÖ on the evening of July 15th. Turkey witnessed a military coup attempt, when a period of normalization assured people of impossibility of any further coup attempts. However, FETÖ member putschists, who have gradually infiltrated the crucial public position, attempted a coup against the government. People’s courageous resistance against the putschists was transformed into ‘democracy watch’ and lasted for 27 days. This work presents the results of interviews conducted with 176 people at 12 public squares in 9 cities. The codes of social consciousness developed by society towards coup attempt, putcshists and the methods of combating with them and similar issues are identified through how society perceives the coup attempt
