Turkey - EU relations have always been undulant, and in the last 3 years it turned into a struggle . The EU Parliament voted to freeze Turkey’s membership in 24 December 2016 and that moved relations to the negative ground and mutual harsh discourse of the leaders created a curiosity about future of the relations. This article focuses on how Turkey-EU relations turned into a impasse and impact of EU Parliament’s decision to the relations of two actors. Furthermore, there is a discussion on nature of economic relations between Turkey and EU and how relations will take form in the future. This study suggests that Turkey and EU should focus on the refugee crisis, security and energy case which reflects common interests of two actors and pursue economic cooperation on rational level
