THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN CURRENT ACCOUNT BALANCE AND ECONOMIC GROWTH IN TURKEY

The current account
deficit, which has become the most important economic issue of Turkey's economy
after 1980, has grown exponentially over the years and today it has become
chronic. In this study, the relationship between economic growth and the
current account balance (current balance/GDP) in Turkey between 1980-2015 has
been analyzed using the VAR model, with Granger causality, impulse-response and
variance decomposition.. As a Result of, it is find that there is a one
way causality between economic growth
and current account balance for Turkey
