SOĞUK ZİNCİR ÜRÜNLERİNİN DENİZ LOJİSTİĞİNDE MALİYET OPTİMİZASYONU: BATI AKDENİZ BÖLGESİNDE DOĞRUSAL PROGRAMLAMA VE EN KÜÇÜK MALİYET YÖNTEMİ KARŞILAŞTIRMASI

Failure to optimize logistics activities, especially transportation activities, carried out in the cold chain process leads to increased costs. As a matter of fact, 50% of the costs arising from logistics activities are due to transportation activities. Therefore, in order to be able to offer products to end customers at the end of cold chain processes at affordable prices, transportation activities should be focused on and optimized. This study focuses on two objectives. The first objective of the study is to minimize the maritime transportation costs of cold chain products. For this purpose, Linear Programming Method and Least Cost Method are used. The second objective of the study is to test the closeness of the value obtained as a result of the Least Cost Method to the optimum value. The data required to achieve these two objectives were obtained from the Western Mediterranean Exporters' Association via e-mail. These data were applied to the Western Mediterranean Region and Excel and Excel's Solver add-in were utilized in the process of applying the methods. Both methods reduced the current period cost, but the Least Cost Method produced a solution that was close to the optimum but not exactly equal. As a result, as a result of the optimization study, it was seen that the sea transportation costs of cold chain products can be reduced and a better result can be achieved by reviewing the assignments in the Least Cost Method.

Soğuk zincir sürecinde gerçekleştirilen lojistik faaliyetlerin özellikle de taşımacılık faaliyetlerin optimize edilmemesi maliyetlerin artmasına neden olmaktadır. Nitekim lojistik faaliyetlerden kaynaklanan maliyetlerin %50’si taşımacılık faaliyetlerinden kaynaklanmaktadır. Bu yüzden soğuk zincir süreçlerinin sonunda nihai müşterilere uygun fiyattan ürün sunabilmek için öncelikle taşımacılık faaliyetlerine odaklanılmalı ve taşımacılık faaliyetleri optimize edilmelidir. Bu çalışma iki amaca odaklanmıştır. Çalışmanın birinci amacı soğuk zincir ürünlerinin denizyolu taşımacılık maliyetlerini minimize etmektir. Bu amaçla Doğrusal Programlama Yöntemi ve En Küçük Maliyet Yöntemi kullanılmıştır. Çalışmanın ikinci amacı ise, En Küçük Maliyet Yöntemi sonucunda ulaşılan değerin, optimum değere yakınlığını test etmektir. Bu iki amaca ulaşabilmek için gerekli olan verilere Batı Akdeniz İhracatçılar Birliğinden e-posta yoluyla ulaşılmıştır. Ulaşılan bu veriler; Batı Akdeniz Bölgesine uygulanmış olup, yöntemlerin uygulanması sürecinde Excel ve Excel’in Çözücü eklentisinden yararlanılmıştır. Her iki yöntemin de mevcut dönem maliyetini düşürdüğü ancak En Küçük Maliyet Yönteminin, optimuma yakın fakat tam olarak eşit olmayan bir çözüm üretmiştir. Sonuç olarak, optimizasyon çalışması neticesinde soğuk zincir ürünlerinin deniz taşımacılık maliyetlerinin düşürülebileceği ve En Küçük Maliyet Yöntemindeki atamaların gözden geçirilerek daha iyi bir sonuca ulaşılabileceği görülmüştür.
