This research was carried out in Gölbaşı, Ankara with the aim of determining the nutrition habits of adult women (20-74 years
old). Sample of this study consists of 650 women selected by the method of stratified random sampling. The average results
about the general features of women are found respectively as follows: age is 36.7 ± 0.51 years, body weight is 70.6 ± 0.55
kg, height is 156.9 ± 0.23 cm, body mass index (BMI) is 28.7 ± 0.22 kg/m². 63.4% of the participants are found to eat gener

ally three times a day while 35.5% of them eat two times a day and 1.1% of them consume only one main meal a day. The
most skipped meal is found to be breakfast (61.0%). According to body mass index, 26.3% of women are found to be normal,
30.5% of them are slightly fat and 38.9% of them are fat. It has also been found as a result of statistical analysis that the body
mass index of women statistically depend on the number of meals, meal skipping and the eating habits (p<0.001).
For a healty life, having a healthy and balanced diet is important. In order to let the metobolism work regularly, attention should
be paid to daily meals which should be consumed periodically with regard to life standarts. Plus, proper eating habits should
be fostered at the early ages.
