The Development of Premarital RelationshipAssesment Scale

Abstract

Objective: The present study aimed to develop
the Premarital Relationship Assesment Scale
(PRAS) and to evaluate the psychometric properties
of the scale.
Method: A total of 101 female and 102 male
students participated in the study. The mean age of
the participants is 22.95. For validity, construct
validity and criteration validity were utilized. The
criteration validity is assessed by examining the
correlation of the PRAS with İlişkilerde Mutluluk
Ölçeği. The reliability of the PRAS was assessed by
Cronbach’s Alpha and test-re test reliability
statistics.
Results: The Cronbach Alpha coefficient
regarding the internal consistency as .86.
Computed test-retest reliability coefficient was .72
(p<.01). The Premarital Relationship Assesment
Scale correlated .48 (p<.01) with İlişkilerde Mutluk
Ölçeği. The factor analysis showed that there were
five factors explaining 42.997% of total variance of
the scale.
Conclusion: The psychometric properties of the
PRAS is found to be satisfactory and could be used
to assess premarital relationship.

Evlilik Öncesi İlişkileri Değerlendirme Ölçeğinin (EÖİDÖ) Gelişirilmesi: Geçerlik ve Güvenirlik Çalışması

Öz

Amaç: Bu araştırmanın amacı Evlilik Öncesi
İlişkileri Değerlendirme Ölçeğini (EÖİDÖ) geliştirmek,
psikometrik özelliklerini incelemektir.
Yöntem: Katılımcıların 101’i kız, 102’si erkektir;
yaş ortalamaları 22.95’tir. Ölçeğin geçerliği
için yapı ve ölçüt geçerliği kullanılmıştır. EÖİDÖ’nin
ölçüt geçerliğini sınamak için İlişkilerde
Mutluluk Ölçeği ile korelasyonuna bakılmıştır.
Ölçeğin güvenirliğine ise iç tutarlılık ve test-tekrar
test yöntemleriyle bakılmıştır.
Bulgular: İç tutarlılığı saptamak amacıyla hesaplanan
Cronbach Alfa katsayısı .86’dır. Testtekrar
test güvenirlik katsayısı .72 (p<.01) olarak
hesaplanmıştır. Evlilik Öncesi İlişkileri Değerlendirme
Ölçeği ve İlişkilerde Mutluluk Ölçeği arasındaki
korelasyon .48 (p<.01) değerindedir. Yapılan
faktör analizi sonucunda envanterin toplam
varyansın %42.99’unu açıklayan beş faktörden
oluştuğu görülmüştür.
Sonuç: Evlilik öncesi ilişkileri değerlendirmede
ölçeğin psikometrik özelliklerinin doyurucu
olduğu ve ölçeğin geçerli ve güvenilir olarak kullanılabileceği
görülmektedir.
