KOL BİÇİMLİ KAPLARIN TÜTSÜ KABI OLARAK KULLANIMI

Öz

Geç Tunç Çağı’nda Anadolu, Kilikya, Kıbrıs, Suriye ve Mısır’a yayılmış kol biçimli kaplar, tapınak, idari yapı, ev, mezar ya da depozitler olmak üzere farklı bağlamlarda ele geçmiştir. Tütsü kabı
ya da libasyon kabı olabilecekleri düşünülmüştür. Ancak iç yüzeylerinde yanık izi olmamasından dolayı kol biçimli kapların libasyon amaçlı kullanılmış olabilecekleri daha çok kabul görmüştür. Arkeometrik analizlerde, bitkisel ve hayvansal yağların yanı sıra balmumu (sadece Boğazköy’de) ve bitümen (sadece Kazaphani’de) saptanması sonucu, bu formların muhtemelen yağların taşınmasında kullanıldığı düşünülmüştür. Son yıllarda yapılan araştırmalarda ise kapların formlarının libasyon yapmaya uygun olmadığı, bu nedenle kokulu yağların seyreltilmesinde kullanılmış olabilecekleri öne sürülmüştür. Kökenleri bilinmemesine rağmen el ve kolu betimleyen kapların en erken kullanım örnekleri Antik Mısır’da görülmektedir ve Antik Mısır görsel kaynaklarında el formlu kaplar tütsü sahnelerinde yer almaktadır. Ayrıca tarafımızca yapılmış deneyler de yanık izinin tek kriter olamayacağını ve bu formların tütsü kabı olarak kullanılmış olabileceğini göstermiştir.

USE OF ARM-SHAPED VESSELS AS INCENSE BURNERS

Öz

Since there are no burn marks on the arm-shaped vessels, which were spread to Anatolia, Cyprus, Syria and Egypt during the Late Bronze Age, it is thought that these forms were mostly intended for libation. However, in ancient Egyptian visual sources, hand-shaped vessels appear in incense scenes. Our own experiments have also shown that burn marks cannot be the only criterion and that they may have been used as incense burners.
