Abstract
68 students events were the movement that influenced all the countries of the world starting from Paris in 1968, which became then the symbol of many generations and movements in world history. The main basis of the movement area of this generation, which is attached to names like ‘’Flower Children ‘’ or the 47’ s ( who was born in 1947) , has set out as an effort for a better world. Although the 68 events in the USA and Western Europe were mostly social and cultural, this process was more political in the third world countries. In the third world countries, 68 events were carried out in the framework of opposing imperialism and the West and advocating socialism. In this respect, it allowed Marxism to become widespread again on the world agenda. The aim of this study is to investigate the reflections of 68 student events in the Turkish press by examining the dimensions related to education and certify it. Within the scope of this study, national newspapers (Liberty, Republic, Interpreter ) were scanned between 1965-1971, and descriptive analysis technique and document review technique were used in news on 68 student events. These newspapers were selected according to the ‘’Criterion sampling’’ method. The data were taken from archives of all three newspapers. While selecting the news, attention has been paid to the training related parts of the 68 student events. While the fact that the events were reflected by the Republic and Interpreter newspapers and that this reflection was a movement that supported the destruction of the existing system and values and the development of education in the newspaper Interpreter, Liberty and the Republic reflected the movement in the form of freedom and democracy movement in education. The events are mostly reflected by the Republic and Interpreter newspapers. While Liberty and the Republic newspapers reflect this movement in the form of freedom and democracy movement, according to Interpreter newspapers, it is a movement that supports the destruction of the existing system and values and the development of education and the discourse about this reflection was dominant.
