Abdolvahid Soofizadeh's “Safavids (1501-1736)” analyzes the manifestation, ideology, political and military history, as well as administrative institutions of the Safavid state in general terms. First of all, the author discusses the political and religious situation of the Azerbaijan region before the establishment of the Safavid state and the views on the origin of the founders of the state. He also reveals the reasons for the Safavids' adoption of Shiism as the official sect and the ideological realities underlying their struggles with their neighbor, the Ottoman Empire, the protector of the Sunni Islamic world. He then provides information on the reigns of the Safavid shahs, the reasons for the state's collapse, and the administrative, religious, and military institutions of the Safavid state.

Abdolvahid Soofizadeh tarafından kaleme alınan “Safevîler (1501-1736)” adlı eser, Safevî Devleti’nin tezahürünü, ideolojisini, siyasi ve askeri tarihinin yanı sıra idari kurumlarını genel hatlarıyla incelemektedir. Yazar ilk olarak Safevî Devleti’nin kuruluşundan önceki Azerbaycan bölgesinin siyasi ve dini durumunu ve devletin kurucularının kökenine dair görüşleri ele almıştır. Ayrıca Safevîlerin Şiîliği resmi mezhep olarak benimsemelerinin sebeplerini ve Sünni İslam dünyasının hamisi konumundaki komşuları Osmanlı Devleti’yle giriştikleri mücadelelerin altında yatan ideolojik gerçekleri ortaya koymuştur. Daha sonra sırasıyla tahta çıkan Safevî şahlarının dönemleri, devletin çöküş sebepleri ve Safevî Devleti’nin idari, dini ve askeri kurumları hakkında bilgiler sunmuştur.
