This study examines the transformation of economic integration between China and the European Union (EU) in the context of emerging trends in the global economy, amid emerging global economic trends, and the strategic opportunities and risks this process presents for Turkiye economic policies. China-EU trade relations, which have gained momentum since the 2010s, have profoundly impacted global production and competition dynamics, particularly in the context of technology, green transformation, digitalization, and supply chain restructuring. The study examines the intersections between the EU's pursuit of strategic autonomy and China's Belt and Road Initiative, exploring alternative approaches that Turkiye could adopt in its foreign trade, industry, investment, and energy policies. Turkiye is closely connected to the intersections between the EU’s pursuit of strategic autonomy and China’s Belt and Road Initiative due to its strategic location and strong economic ties with both regions. As a country positioned between Europe and Asia, Türkiye is directly affected by the evolving economic and geopolitical relations between the EU and China, which shape its trade, investment, and energy policies. The findings indicate that Turkiye needs a more balanced, inclusive, and flexible economic policy framework to strengthen its competitive power, production capacity, and role in regional supply networks. Consequently, the study develops innovative and adaptable policy recommendations aligned with the goals of sustainable growth, regional integration, digital transformation, and strategic independence. In particular, it proposes feasible policy instruments including capacity building the development of technological competencies, and bilateral economic cooperation. The policy recommendations are supported by risk mitigation and opportunity assessment mechanisms.
