Sesin Platformlaşması: Podcast Gazeteciliğinde Anlatı ve Yapısal Dinamikler

Öz

Bu çalışma, dijital medya ekosistemi içinde popülerliğini her geçen gün artıran podcast mecrasını, gazetecilik pratikleri ve medya dönüşümü bağlamında ele almaktadır. Podcast mecrası, radyo yayıncılığına kıyasla doğrusal yapı içinde değildir. Podcastlerin kitlelere sunduğu yatay ve zaman-mekân sınırlaması olmaksızın erişilebilen yeni iletişim modeli analiz edilmektedir. Çalışma, podcastin 2000’li yılların ortasındaki teknolojik başlangıcından günümüzdeki ticarileşme ve ana akımlaşma sürecine kadar olan tarihsel gelişimini üç ana evrede incelemektedir. Türkiye bağlamında ise podcast gazeteciliğinin; ana akım medya sahiplik yapısındaki yoğunlaşma ve artan denetim mekanizmalarına karşı, bağımsız gazeteciler için alternatif ve daha özerk bir kamusal alan sunduğu saptanmıştır. Makalede ayrıca, podcastlerin araştırmacı ve tematik gazetecilik için sunduğu derinlemesine hikâye anlatımı olanakları ile gazetecilik etik normları ve nesnellik ilkesinin "yorumlayıcı habercilik" yönünde geçirdiği dönüşüm tartışılmaktadır. Sonuç olarak, podcasting yalnızca teknik bir dağıtım aracı değil, aynı zamanda özgün içerik üretimi ve yeni gazetecilik modelleri için kritik bir veri kaynağı ve uygulama alanı olarak tanımlanmaktadır.

The Platformization of Sound: Narrative and Structural Dynamics in Podcast Journalism

Öz

This study examines the podcast medium, which is increasingly gaining popularity within the digital media ecosystem, in the context of journalism practices and media transformation. Unlike radio broadcasting, the podcast medium does not operate within a linear structure. This research analyzes the new communication model offered by podcasts, characterized by a horizontal structure and access free from the constraints of time and space. The study investigates the historical development of podcasting in three main stages, from its technological emergence in the mid-2000s to its current process of commercialization and mainstreaming. In the context of Türkiye, it is observed that podcast journalism offers an alternative and more autonomous public communication space for independent journalists against the concentration of mainstream media ownership and increasing censorship mechanisms. Furthermore, the article discusses the opportunities for in-depth storytelling that podcasts provide for investigative and thematic journalism, alongside the transformation of journalistic ethical norms and the principle of objectivity toward "interpretative journalism". Consequently, podcasting is defined not merely as a technical distribution tool but also as a critical data source and application area for original content production and new journalism models.
