Effect of sulfur and humic acid applications on micro nutrient contents of spinach (Spinacea oleracea var. Spinoza)

This research was carried out at 48 plots in the Research and Experimental Field of Horticultural Department of Agricultural Faculty in Yüzüncü Yıl University according to a randomized plot design with three replicates. In the experiment, four different doses of sulfur (0, 125, 250, 375 g S m-2) and humic acid (0, 10, 20, 30 g HA m-2) were used. Also, urea üre (40 kg N da-1), TSP (30 kg P2O5 da-1) and farmyard manure (3.5 ton da-1) were applied to all plots to improve plant growth. At the end of the research, there were significant decreases in soil pH levels by the sulfur and humic acid applications (P<0.05). The effects of sulfur application on Fe, Cu and Zn contents in spinach were significant (P<0.05) and this application increased Cu and Zn contents. Cu, Zn and Mn contents of spinach significantly increased at 1% level by the humic acid application.
