It has never been possible to set even the most developed machines automatically according to variying fiber properties. It is required to keep under control the nature1 variations occurring during the production processes in order to manufacture an even yarn. It has been the purpose of this research to investigate the possibility of using the Fibrograph, which gives rapid results as compared to classical fiber length measurement methods, in the optimum setting of carding and drawing machines as well as in blend preparations, and to discuss the advantages to be gained.
