Metastatic jugulotympanic paraganglioma (A case report)

Abstract

Inflammatory myofibroblastic tumor (IMT) (inflammatory pseudotumor) is a rare mass forming disease that can be seen at any site of the body. It is not clear whether if it is an inflammatory process or a true neoplasm. It is confused with many mass forming diseases. In most cases it is diagnosed by pathologists after resection. Our purpose is to present this rare case with an interesting pathogenesis

Öz

İnflamatuar myofibroblastik tümör (IMT) (inflamatuar psödotümör) vücudun bir çok bölgesinde görülebilen, inflamatuar bir süreç mi, yoksa gerçek bir neoplazm mı olduğu henüz kanıtlanmamış ve kitle oluşturan bir hastalık tablosudur. Kitle oluşturan bir çok hastalık ile karıştırılmaktadır. Tanı, çoğu kez, rezeksiyon piyesinde konulmaktadır. Amacımız az görülmesi ve patogenezi açısından ilginç bulunan, saptadığımız bir olguyu sunmaktır. 48 yaşında, kadın hastanın, karaciğerindeki kitleye bilgisayarlı tomografi (BT) ile karaciğer sol lobda ve midede tanımlanan lezyonlar “inflamatuar bir proçes olabileceği gibi, olası mide ya da karaciğer tümörü de ekarte edilemez” şeklinde düşünülerek operasyona alınmıştır. Histopatolojik ve immün dokukimyasal değerlendirmeler olgunun inflamatuar myofibroblastk tümör olduğunu göstermiştir. Sonuç olarak, karaciğer kitle lezyonlarının patolog tanısında çok dikkatli olmalı ve ayırıcı tanıda inflamatuar myofibroblastik tümör olasılığını daima anımsamalıdır
