Öz

The Sahel region has become one of the important regions where the security problem has become evident both politically and economically in the last ten years. The Sahel region has come to the forefront as a geography that affects the policies of regional and non-regional powers on the one hand, and determines the attempts of these states to fight terrorism on the other. In the Sahel, on the one hand, regional powers such as Burkina Faso, Chad, Mauritania, Mali, and Niger, as well as countries such as France and the European Union were involved in the problem. This situation has caused the problem in the Sahel to cease to be a regional problem and to become a problem in which international powers are also involved. In this study, terrorism and security problems in the Sahel region were examined and it was concluded that the Sahel region became a terror corridor as a result of these actions. It is seen that this terrorist threat is created by regional and global terrorist organizations and negatively affects the region. However, this study argues that the G5-Sahel Joint Force's counter-terrorism policies have failed. As it can be seen in the Mali example, it was concluded that this situation negatively affected the G5 Sahel - France relations politically and economically.

G5-Sahel Ortak Gücünün Terörle Mücadele Politikası ve G5-Sahel Fransa İlişkileri

Öz

Sahel bölgesi, son on yıl içerisinde hem siyasi hem de ekonomik açıdan güvenlik sorununun belirginleştiği önemli bölgelerden birisi haline gelmiştir. Sahel bölgesi, bir yandan bölgesel ve bölge dışı güçlerin politikalarını etkileyen, diğer yandan bu devletlerin terörizmle mücadele girişimlerini belirleyen bir coğrafya olarak ön plana çıkmıştır. Buna çalışmada, Sahel bölgesinde yaşanan terör saldırılarının nedenleri incelenmiş ve bu saldırıların bir neticesi olarak Sahel bölgesinin bir terör koridoru haline geldiği sonucuna varılmıştır. Bununla beraber, bu çalışmada G5-Sahel Ortak Gücünün terörle mücadele politikalarının başarısız olduğu ileri sürülmektedir. Bu durum Mali örneğinde görüleceği gibi, G5 Sahel - Fransa ilişkilerini siyasi ve ekonomik açıdan olumsuz yönde etkilediği sonucuna varılmıştır.
