DOĞA TURİZMİ LİTERATÜRÜNÜN ENTELEKTÜEL YAPISI VE EVRİMİ: 1991-2025 DÖNEMİ ÜZERİNE BİBLİYOMETRİK BİR ANALİZ

Öz

Bu çalışmanın temel amacı, 1991-2025 yılları arasında doğa turizmi alanında gerçekleştirilen akademik çalışmaların bibliyometrik profilini ortaya koyarak alanın entelektüel yapısını ve tematik evrimini incelemektir. Araştırma kapsamında Web of Science (WoS) veri tabanından elde edilen 532 makale, bibliyometrik analiz teknikleri ve R tabanlı Biblioshiny yazılımı kullanılarak performans analizi ve bilimsel haritalama yöntemleriyle incelenmiştir. Bulgular, doğa turizmi literatürünün özellikle 2017 yılından itibaren ivme kazandığını ve 2022 yılında en yüksek yayın sayısına ulaştığını göstermektedir. Coğrafi açıdan İspanya yayın sayısında (210 makale) lider konumdayken, ABD toplam atıf sayısında (1228 atıf) ilk sırada yer almaktadır. Türkiye ise 39 makale ile küresel sıralamada 13. sırada bulunmaktadır. Kavramsal yapı analizi; literatürün ekolojik-yönetimsel, algısal-davranışsal ve destinasyon pazarlaması olmak üzere üç temel eksende kümelendiğini ortaya koymaktadır. Araştırma sonuçları, doğa turizmi çalışmalarının teorik bir olgunluğa ulaştığını ve sürdürülebilirlik ile yönetim kavramlarının merkeziliğini koruduğunu kanıtlamaktadır. Bu çalışma, elde edilen bulgular ışığında gelecek araştırmalar için stratejik bir yol haritası sunmaktadır.

INTELLECTUAL STRUCTURE AND EVOLUTION OF NATURE TOURISM LITERATURE: A BIBLIOMETRIC ANALYSIS OF THE 1991-2025 PERIOD

Öz

The main objective of this study is to reveal the bibliometric profile of academic studies in the field of nature tourism between 1991 and 2025 and to examine the intellectual structure and thematic evolution of the field. Within the scope of the research, 532 articles obtained from the Web of Science (WoS) database were analysed using performance analysis and scientific mapping methods, with bibliometric analysis techniques and the R-based Biblioshiny software. The findings show that the nature tourism literature gained momentum, especially after 2017, reaching its highest number of publications in 2022. Geographically, Spain leads in the number of publications (210 articles), while the USA ranks first in the total number of citations (1228 citations). Türkiye ranks 13th in the global ranking with 39 articles. Conceptual structure analysis reveals that the literature is clustered in three main axes: ecological-managerial, perceptual-behavioral, and destination marketing. The research results demonstrate that nature tourism studies have reached theoretical maturity and that the concepts of sustainability and management remain central. This study provides a strategic roadmap for future research in light of the findings.
