BIBLIOMETRIC ANALYSIS OF STUDIES IN THE FIELD OF KNEE OSTEOARTHRITIS IN WOMEN

Öz

ABSTRACT Purpose: Knee osteoarthritis is a degenerative disease characterized by joint pain, stiffness, and limited movement, accompanied by damage to the articular cartilage. Osteoarthritis (OA) is the most common type of arthritis, and the knee is the most frequently affected joint. Several risk factors, such as age, gender, and body mass index, contribute to the development of knee osteoarthritis. Female gender has been shown to hurt osteoarthritis. Our study aims to analyze all the scientific articles related to knee osteoarthritis in women, indexed in the Scopus database, and the data were downloaded from the database on October 31, 2023. Materials and Methods: Bibliometric analysis is a type of content analysis conducted to obtain frequency and citation analysis of articles using various parameters such as topics, methods, and references. The data in this study were analyzed using the VoSviewer and Biblioshiny software programs. Results: Our study included 4254 articles from the literature. The United States is the leading contributor in terms of the number of articles, and Germany is the country with which the United States has the most international collaboration. Notably, "Boston University" stands out as the institution with the most productive research output in this field. Felson DT. is the most prolific author with 118 publications. The most frequently used keywords include "female," "male," and "aged." Conclusion: The findings of this study are valuable for anyone interested in gaining insights into potential future developments regarding knee osteoarthritis in women. Ultimately, this research provides a roadmap for future studies related to knee osteoarthritis in women.

KADINLARDA DİZ OSTEOARTRİT ALANINDAKİ ÇALIŞMALARIN BİBLİYOMETRİK ANALİZİ

Öz

ÖZET Amaç: Diz osteoartriti, eklem kıkırdağında hasarın eşlik ettiği eklem ağrısı, sertlik ve hareket kısıtlılığı ile karakterize dejeneratif bir hastalıktır. Osteoartrit (OA) en yaygın artrit türüdür ve diz en sık etkilenen eklemdir. Yaş, cinsiyet ve vücut kitle indeksi gibi çeşitli risk faktörleri diz osteoartritinin gelişimine katkıda bulunur. Kadın cinsiyetinin osteoartrit üzerinde olumsuz bir etkisi olduğu gösterilmiştir. Çalışmamız, Scopus veri tabanında indekslenen kadınlarda diz osteoartriti ile ilgili tüm bilimsel makaleleri analiz etmeyi amaçlamaktadır ve veriler 31 Ekim 2023 tarihinde veri tabanından indirilmiştir. Metod ve Yöntemler: Bibliyometrik analiz, konu, yöntem ve referanslar gibi çeşitli parametreler kullanılarak makalelerin frekans ve atıf analizini elde etmek için yapılan bir içerik analizi türüdür. Bu çalışmadaki veriler VoSviewer ve Biblioshiny yazılım programları kullanılarak analiz edilmiştir. Bulgular: Çalışmamıza literatürden 4254 makale dahil edilmiştir. Amerika Birleşik Devletleri makale sayısı bakımından en çok katkı sağlayan ülke olurken, Almanya da Amerika Birleşik Devletleri'nin en çok uluslararası işbirliği yaptığı ülke olmuştur. Özellikle “Boston Üniversitesi” bu alanda en üretken araştırma çıktısına sahip kurum olarak öne çıkmaktadır. Felson DT. 118 yayınla en üretken yazardır. En sık kullanılan anahtar kelimeler arasında “kadın”, “erkek” ve “yaşlı” yer almaktadır. Sonuç: Bu çalışmanın bulguları, kadınlarda diz osteoartriti ile ilgili gelecekteki potansiyel gelişmeler hakkında fikir edinmek isteyen herkes için değerlidir. Nihayetinde bu araştırma, kadınlarda diz osteoartriti ile ilgili gelecekteki çalışmalar için bir yol haritası sunmaktadır.
