Deli Dana Hastalığı

Öz

Bovine Spongioforme Encephalopathy BSE , ilk kez 1986 yılı Kasım ayında İngiltere’de saptanmasından sonra yoğun bir şekilde dünya gündemine oturmuş ve özellikle Büyük Britanya’- da günümüze kadar dramatik gelişmelere yol açarak bölgedeki sığır populasyonunun onda birinin yok olmasına neden olmuştur. Bugün bile hala bazı sırlarını koruyan BSE, dünyanın gündemi ile birlikte deli dana, deli inek, delibaş hastalığı gibi adlarla Türkiye’nin de gündemine gelmiştir. Bugün gerek halk sağlığı gerekse hayvancılığın korunması açısından, hastalığın tanıtımı, kamuoyunun bilinçlendirilmesi ve izlenmesi gereken iç ve dış politikaların yönlendirilmesi gibi konularda bilim adamlarının üzerine önemli görevler düşmektedir 1, 2 .
