Faith Reason and Will in the Early Kalam-Philosophy Relationship
Abstract
There have been extensive discussions on the relationship between reason and transmission in Kalam, and a significant amount of literature has emerged. These discussions on the relationship of mind and transmission are useful discussions on their own ground because the framework and relationship of both concepts are crucial. However, considering the two concepts as separate concepts rather than the "relationship" of the two concepts leads to a significant problem. This orientation leads to the emergence of two autonomous / different types of information in the form of “knowledge based on reason” and “knowledge based on transmission,” which do not require each other. A similar issue to the relationship between reason and transmission is the relationship between reason and will. Reason exists in every human being as a condition/consequence of being human and has the power/system to reveal itself and produce knowledge independently of belief. Similarly, willingness is a condition/consequence of being human and is functional regardless of belief.
