Küreselleşme, uzun bir geçmişe sahip olmakla birlikte, özellikle 1980'li yıllardan sonra daha fazla dikkat çekmeye başlayan bir kavramdır. Küreselleşmeyi mümkün kılan, insanların ve nesnelerin hareket etme ve iletişim kurma kapasitesinin artmasıdır. Bu süreç, gelişmiş ülkelerin yanı sıra daha çok az gelişmiş veya gelişmekte olan ülkelerin ekonomilerini de etkisi altına almaktadır. Küreselleşmenin birçok farklı boyutu bulunur; özellikle ekonomik alanda öne çıksa da siyasal, sosyal ve kültürel alanlarda da geniş bir etki yaratmaktadır. Küreselleşmenin üretkenlik ve verimlilik açısından olumlu etkilerinin yanı sıra, gelir dağılımını bozarak ulus devletin gücünü zayıflatması gibi olumsuz etkileri de söz konusudur. Bu nedenle, küreselleşmenin bir olumlu gelişme mi yoksa sadece belirli grupların çıkarlarını koruyan tehlikeli bir gelişme mi olduğu konusunda farklı görüşler bulunmaktadır.
Bu çalışmanın amacı, küreselleşme kavramını temel alarak, küreselleşmeyi destekleyen ve eleştiren görüşleri ortaya koymak, uluslararası ölçütler doğrultusunda az gelişmişliği belirleyen faktörleri incelemek ve küreselleşmenin az gelişmiş veya gelişmekte olan ülkeler üzerindeki etkilerini değerlendirmektir.
Globalization has a long history, but it is a concept that has started to attract more attention especially after the 1980s. What makes globalization possible is the increase in the capacity of people and objects to move and communicate. This process affects the economies of underdeveloped or developing countries as well as developed countries. Globalization has many different dimensions; although it is especially prominent in the economic field, it also has a wide impact in political, social and cultural fields. In addition to the positive effects of globalization in terms of productivity and efficiency, it also has negative effects such as weakening the power of the nation state by disrupting income distribution. For this reason, there are different views on whether globalization is a positive development or a dangerous development that only protects the interests of certain groups.
The purpose of this study is to present the views supporting and criticizing globalization, examining the factors determining underdevelopment in line with international criteria and evaluating the effects of globalization on underdeveloped or developing countries, based on the concept of globalization
