A NEW APPROACH IN NURSING EDUCATION: MICRO LEARNING

Öz

Microlearning is defined as the acquisition of knowledge from short, focused modules of information, often containing a single learning objective. Microlearning brings together different approaches to learning. The increasing need for nurses with advanced knowledge and skills in healthcare has created a need for universities to provide quality education and adopt innovative approaches. E-learning, fueled by social media and other communication technologies, has become an important part of courses in higher education, including health professions education. Microlearning, with its content and the use of secure social media channels, provides opportunities to engage nursing students more extensively in learning activities, particularly related to review, case studies and core tasks. As a result of this review on microlearning, we can say that microlearning is an innovative approach in nursing education, it increases the satisfaction and interest of students with the active use of technology, provides the transfer of information to long-term memory, and improves skills.

HEMŞİRELİK EĞİTİMİNDE YENİLİKÇİ BİR YAKLAŞIM: MİKRO ÖĞRENME

Öz

Mikro öğrenme, genellikle tek bir öğrenme hedefini içeren kısa, odaklanmış bilgi modüllerinden bilginin elde edilmesi olarak tanımlanmaktadır. Mikro öğrenme, öğrenmeye yönelik farklı yaklaşımları bir araya getirmektedir. Sağlık hizmetlerinde ileri bilgi ve becerilere sahip hemşirelere yönelik artan ihtiyaç, üniversitelerin kaliteli eğitim vermesi ve yenilikçi yaklaşımlar benimsemeleri gerekliliğini ortaya çıkarmıştır. Sosyal medya ve diğer iletişim teknolojilerinden beslenen e-öğrenme, sağlık meslekleri eğitimi de dahil olmak üzere yüksek öğrenimdeki derslerin önemli bir parçası haline gelmiştir. Mikro öğrenme; içeriği ve güvenli sosyal medya kanallarının kullanımı ile hemşirelik öğrencilerini, özellikle tekrarlama, vaka çalışmaları ve temel görevlerle ilgili öğrenme etkinliklerine daha kapsamlı bir şekilde dahil etme fırsatları sağlar. Mikro öğrenim ile ilgili yapılan bu derlemenin sonucunda, mikro öğrenimin hemşirelik eğitiminde yenilikçi bir yaklaşım olduğu, teknolojinin aktif kullanımı ile öğrencilerin memnuniyetini arttırdığı ve ilgisini çektiği, bilginin uzun süreli belleğe aktarımını sağladığı, becerileri geliştirdiğini söyleyebiliriz.
