PULLING THE TONGUE IN RESUSCITATION IN OTTOMAN MEDICAL TEXTS

Öz

Pulling the tongue in cardiopulmonary resuscitation is a treatment method that was introduced in the second half of the 19th century and has been used for a long time. Pulling the tongue, which was widely applied in Europe, especially in France and England, was also used in our country in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Late Ottoman medical texts revealed that there are some examples of this, such as pulling the tongue, which is a method used in resuscitation attempts.

OSMANLI TIBBİ METİNLERİNE GÖRE RESÜSİTASYONDA DİL ÇEKME

Öz

Kardiyopulmoner resüsitasyon sırasında dilin çekilmesi, 19. yüzyılın ikinci yarısında uygulamaya girmiş ve uzun bir süre boyunca uygulanmış bir tedavi yöntemidir. Başta Fransa ve İngiltere olmak üzere Avrupa’da yaygın uygulanan dil çekme, 19. yüzyıl sonu ile 20. yüzyıl başında ülkemizde de kullanılmıştır. Son dönem Osmanlı tıp metinleri, literatürde buna ilişkin bazı örneklerin bulunduğunu ve dil çekmenin resüsitasyon girişimlerinde başvurulan bir yöntem olduğunu göstermektedir.
