DROWNING RESUSCITATION: A PEDIATRIC CASE STUDY

Öz

Drowning is the deterioration of respiratory function due to immersion or submersion in liquid and the problems that follow. It is one of the leading and preventable causes of death worldwide. In some cases, effective cardiopulmonary resuscitation initiated early after drowning arrest and effective intensive care treatment result in survival without neurologic damage. In this article, we aimed to emphasize that we discharged our patient who was admitted to pediatric intensive care unit with poor prognosis criteria without any neurological sequelae.

BOĞULMA RESÜSİTASYONU: PEDİATRİK OLGU SUNUMU

Öz

Boğulma, sıvı içerisine batma veya dalmaya bağlı solunum fonksiyonunun bozulması ve bunu takip eden sorunlar tablosudur. Tüm dünyada önde gelen ve önlenebilir ölüm nedenlerinden birisidir. Bazı vakalarda suda boğulmaya bağlı arrestten sonra erken başlatılan etkili kardiyopulmoner resüsitasyon ve etkin yoğun bakım tedavisi ile , nörolojik hasar oluşmadan sağkalımı sağlanmaktadır. Bu yazıda, kötü prognoz kriterleri ile çocuk yoğun bakıma kabul ettiğimiz hastamızı ve nörolojik sekelsiz taburcu ettiğimiz olguyu sunmayı amaçladık.
