BOUNDARYLESS AND PROTEAN CAREER ATTITUDES OF ACADEMIC STAFF WORKING IN UNIVERSITIES' DEPARTMENTS THAT ACCEPT STUDENTS BY SPECIAL TALENT EXAM

Öz

This study was carried out to examine the boundaryless and protean career attitudes of academic staff working in faculties of sports sciences and fine arts of universities. A total of 423 academic staff, 251 from sports departments and 172 from arts departments, participated in the research. "Personal Information Form" to determine the demographic characteristics of the participants; The Boundaryless and Protean Career Scale, developed by Briscoe et al., (2006) and adapted into Turkish by Onay and Ataseven (2010) for validity and reliability, was used to investigate the “Boundaryless” and “Protean” orientations. As a result of the research, when the Boundaryless and Protean career attitudes of the participants were examined, it was determined that the Boundaryless career attitudes and general Protean career attitudes were at a "high" level. No significant differences were found in the Boundaryless and Protean career attitudes of the academic staff working in the sports and arts departments of the universities, and it was determined that both groups had a high level of Boundaryless and Protean career attitudes.

Öz

Bu çalışma, üniversitelerin spor bilimleri ile güzel sanatlar fakültelerinde görev yapan akademik personelin sınırsız ve çok yönlü kariyer tutumlarını incelemek amacıyla yapılmıştır. Araştırmaya, üniversitelerin spor bölümlerinden 251, sanat bölümlerinden 172 olmak üzere toplam 423 akademik personelin katılmıştır. Katılımcıların demografik özelliklerini belirlemek için “Kişisel Bilgi Formu”; “Sınırsız Kariyer” ve “Çok Yönlü Kariyer” yönelimlerini araştırmak için Briscoe vd., (2006) tarafından geliştirilen ve Onay ve Ataseven (2010) tarafından Türkçe’ye uyarlanarak geçerlilik ve güvenirlilik çalışması yapılan “Sınırsız ve Çok Yönlü Kariyer Ölçeği” kullanılmıştır. Araştırmanın sonucunda, katılımcıların sınırsız ve çok yönlü kariyer tutumları incelendiğinde, sınırsız kariyer tutumları ile genel çok yönlü kariyer tutumlarının “yüksek” düzeyde olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Üniversitelerin spor ile sanat bölümlerinde görev yapan akademik personel arasında sınırsız ve çok yönlü kariyer tutumlarında anlamlı farklılıklara rastlanmamıştır ve her iki grubunda yüksek düzeyde sınırsız ve çok yönlü kariyer tutumuna sahip oldukları saptanmıştır.
