ROMA İMPARATORLUK DÖNEMİ’NDEKİ YAHUDİ İSYANLARINA GENEL BAKIŞ

Öz

Yahudilik tarih boyunca katı kurallara sahip olmasından kaynaklı olarak adından hep söz ettiren sistematik yapıya sahip bir ırk ve bir inanış olarak kabul edilmiştir. Kendi kimlikleri için duruşlarından taviz vermeyen, dik başlı bir kavim olarak tarih sahnesinde boy gösteren bu topluluk, yaşamış oldukları coğrafya olan Provincia İudaea’da Roma tahakkümüne karşı ayrı ayrı zamanlarda üç büyük isyanla karşılık vermişlerdir. Bu isyanlarının her biri oldukça kanlı ve büyük direnmeyle anılagelmektedir. Sürgün, göç ya da ölümlerle noktalanan bu isyanlar görsel sanatlarda da kendine yer edinmeyi başarmıştır. Bu çalışmada isyanların konu edildiği eserlere de kısaca değinilecektir.
